Simply defined, a “tithe” means “one tenth.” The giving of the tithe is the very foundation on which our stewardship of finances rests. It’s when we give the tenth to Him before anything else is bought or paid for that we honor Him as Lord of our finances.
Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the first-fruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.

An offering is different from a tithe in that it is given in addition to the tithe. At times God will lead you to give beyond your tithe to the Church. You may be lead to give an offering to the church, or to a person/ministry/organization in need.
